Drexel has already hit the ground running with their recruitment for the class of 2016. Sam Green, a rising senior at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland, verbally committed to Drexel last Saturday via Twitter.
Last season, the combo forward led his team to an 18-11 record and a top-10 Maryland state ranking. He is a member of the DC Thunder AAU team, where he averaged 7.8 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game at the Adidas Uprising summer championship in Las Vegas. In 2013, Green was also ranked as the sixth best player in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia region for class of 2016 by DMVelite.
The addition of Green will add depth to the Dragons frontcourt, which will lose graduate student Kazembe Abif to graduation at the end of this season.
Coach Bruiser Flint will now look to add a guard to this recruiting class, as standout Tavon Allen is due to graduate this spring.
